At the annual fall conference, SoDakSACA awards a person, organization or business the ‘SACCY’ award in recognition of their leadership and support in the field of school age care in South Dakota. Nominations (made by SoDakSACA members only) must be made by August 1 to be considered. The selection is made by the SoDakSACA Board Award Committee, and presentation is made at the Saturday luncheon during the SoDakSACA conference.

SoDakSACA also encourages programs to consider becoming nationally accredited, and continue their work in becoming a quality program. Each year at the annual conference, newly-accredited programs are recognized and presented certificates for their achievement. NAA no longer administers the national accreditation program, as the Council on Accreditation has assumed this work. SoDakSACA reminds programs the Div. of Child Care Services through the regional Early Childhood and School-age Enrichment programs currently provides on-site technical assistance to programs wishing to become accredited.
